At 12 weeks of the pregnancy, I was told in the ER that I had a partial placenta previa, at my follow up appointment with my regular OB/GYN he mentioned that he was not worried because the placenta would eventually move into place. On week 16 I was sent to the Fetal Specialist to check my placenta and the development of the baby. At this appointment is when I find out that I have a full Placenta Previa and a possible Placenta Accreta, which is a condition that affects 1 out of 2500 pregnancies.
Definition: a severe obstetric complication involving an abnormally deep attachment of the placenta, through the endometrium and into the myometrium (the middle layer of the uterine wall). There are three forms of placenta accreta, distinguishable by the depth of penetration.

On Monday week 24 I was informed that my condition was now taking over my cervix, and on that Friday
week 25 is when they decided to admit me because my Placenta was misbehaving and it looked like it was now a Placenta Percreta. This condition only happens in 5%-7% of pregnancies and it is the worst condition for the placenta to be in.
Definition: A placenta that invades the uterine wall. In placenta percreta, the vascular processes of the chorion (the chorionic villi), a fetal membrane that enters into the formation of the placenta, may invade the full thickness of the myometrium. This can cause an incomplete rupture of the uterus. The chorionic villi can go right on through both the myometrium and the outside covering of the uterus (serosa), causing complete and catastrophic rupture of the uterus.
I have seen many Dr.'s this week. The regular OB/GYN's, the Fetal Specialist, the Oncologist, the Anesthesiologist, and the Neo Natal dr., and the one that scared me the most was the Neo Natal Dr. because of all of the risks involved if the baby came now! From brain damage to blindness, to cerebral palsy. I realized that the baby needs to stay in as much as possible!!!
I am fed well, vitals are taken every 6 hrs, baby monitored twice a day, blood work every 3 days, IV tube replacement every 9 days, sonograms twice per week. A lot going on until January 2012!
I miss my family, specially my babies tremendously! Most of you know how active I am with them and now I have to miss every basketball game, football banquet, practice, school events that they have going on. But the Lord works in mysterious ways, and this is part of His plan.
In this blog I will keep you updated on what goes on with Baby Judah, anytime I find out something new, and anyone is welcome to come visit at anytime! I also want to give a special thanks to Delfino, my boyfriend, my mother and my family and close friends for all that they do! I LOVE AND MISS YOU ALL!!!
Wow, Rosie, you have so much going on! I'll be praying for you and Judah. I know he will be fine, and just as amazingas your other kiddos. January will be here before you know it.
